For starters, it is equipped with the Philips GyroFlex 3D system that allows the shaving heads to flex in all directions. Turning on a pivot, it can bend backwards, forwards, as well as to the left or right. This means it can follow every contour of your face, easing pressure on your skin and avoiding irritation, as it cuts unwanted hair.
Each of the shaving heads, dubbed UltraTrack heads, has three rows of tracks. The outer track, which consists of slots around the entire circumference of the head, is designed to catch and cut normal hairs. Within this are channels, which are slightly wider than the outer slots. These are intended to deal with long and flat-lying hairs. The innermost track, on the other hand, is made of holes where short stubble fall. Below the holes are blades that swiftly cut short hairs falling into them.
A comfortable shave is further assured with the SkinGlide shaving surface. SkinGlide minimizes friction and promotes a soft and flowing slide of the shaving heads over your skin.
Philips' Super Lift&Cut Action is also incorporated into the 1260X. This consists of two blades closely following each other that are angled differently. The first blade, instead of cutting hair, merely lifts it exposing a portion that is normally under the skin. It is the second blade that does the cutting. This leaves the skin feeling smooth as the cut hair goes back below its surface.
The back of the Philips Norelco 1260X SensoTouch 3D Electric Razor includes a precision trimmer for keeping your mustache, sideburns, or beard neat and trim.
Equipped with Aquatec seals, the shaver can be used either dry or wet. You can use it on the go, or in your bathroom with gel or foam for a refreshing shave. Also because of the seals, you can clean the shaver simply by running clean tap water through it.
Powered by a rechargeable battery, the shaver can be used cordless for a full hour before requiring a recharge. It has a universal voltage so you can plug it into an electric outlet for charging anywhere in the world.
